YEA Member Crossing the U.S.

I wanted to give an update on Skyler Howell and his progress in his Canada to Mexico bike trip since everyone has been asking and concerned. We dropped Skyler and his brother (Seth) off at the Salt Lake City Greyhound bus station on June 7th, 2009. Since Skyler’s passport did not arrive in time they couldn’t go into Canada so they started in Bellingham, WA. They are having the time of their lives and the weather has cooperated unlike here in Utah. They have been averaging around 70 miles a day. They did have some issue with their saddlebags rubbing their tires but they now have this worked out and situated. They stated that the campgrounds along the coast are great and they all have very clean showers for anyone hoping to do this someday. They had made it as far as Florence, OR on Sunday night which is just a little north of Coos Bay,OR. They also went to the Tillimook Cheese factory and ate lots of cheese curds and ice cream. I guess you can do that when you are burning 5,000 calories a day. They plan on getting to California in the next two days and hopefully get through California in 14 days or less. Skyler wanted me to tell you all hello.
